Description
Inspired first by the notion of Roman Emperors, who came from military backgrounds. In the act of acclamation they were raised on their shields to the masses when elected. This practice transpired over hundreds of years and built the connection between soldiers and their General.

Great theme for a series, 'back in black,' either in a virtual gallery or in the world, Alec. I can see these pieces hanging together either way. And 'The Emperors Shield' nicely evokes cultures of earlier times in it's subject matter & design..with a modern electric/plastic execution. Like, brilliant!

I like this and have my own interpretation, which is the beauty of abstracts. In any case, beautifully done! v/

Cool, colourful and well-designed. Although inspired by romans, I get a strong oriental vibe from the composition! V/F!

Dean, you have a great eye and I found myself in the same place once the work was complete. Sometimes we start in one direction and the result surprises. Thank you for the ongoing input and support...it means a lot.
